Reduce Acne Scars Using Some Home Remedies

Acne is one of the skin break-out that’s hard to control and if ever they are already treated, the scars will stay. Here are some of the home remedies you can try to reduce the acne scars in your skin.

1. Use Salicylic Acid Peel

This is can be bought in over-the-counter drugstores and you may apply this on your acne scars three to five times for four weeks to see the results.

2. Use Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acid (AHA) Gel

Apply the gel in the affected area at least two times a day. Alpha-Hydroxy acids can also be naturally found in in foods like citrus, sugar cane, sour milk and apples. With the acids present in them they are effective in reducing the appearance of scars, blemishes and wrinkles.

3. Apply Onion extract gel

This is available in drugstores and you can apply it once or twice a day until there were no scars left. Onions have natural antioxidants that helps reduce inflammation and stimulates cell growth according to studies.

4. Apply Aloe Vera gel

If you have an aloe vera plant you can just simply cut a leaf and use the inner part of the plant. Aloe vera contains active compounds that help reduce inflammation and with its high water content it is also perfect as moisturizer.

5. Apply Calensula Ointment

Use this in the affected are for three to four times a day or as needed. Make sure that you are not allergic to such plant before trying to use it.

6. Make an avocado mask

Mash the avocado and apply it directly to the affected area leaving it there for 10-15 minutes. Wash it off with cool water and gently pat your skin with clean dry towel. Avocado is rich in fatty acids that promote collagen production thus helping tissue repair.
With the above mention home remedies, you should also have a proper skin care routine that you should do daily for better results. Aside from washing your face daily with gentle cleanser, exfoliating at least twice a week and applying moisturizer and sunscreen, it is also advisable that you take enough amount of water in a day for your skin to stay hydrated.
