Lighten Your Natural Black Hair At Home
Having natural black hair is a beautiful asset to have especially for girls. But the ongoing trend in beauty and fashion, some of them tend to change their colors and go to the salon. We are going to share with you some ways to change your hair color at the comfort of your home.
Here are the steps you can follow:
1. Choose the hair color you want
Choose a warmer color for a reddish tone. If you have natural black hair choose a dye that’s only slightly lighter than your natural hair color unless you want to lift your hair via bleaching first. Also pick a cooler color to avoid red undertones.
2. Protect yourself from the dye
Use gloves to protect your skin from harmful chemicals found in dying creams. Put also a towel on your shoulder to avoid leakage of chemicals from your scalp.
3. Mix your dye and developer
Follow the instructions written on the container because ratio would vary depending on dye brands.
4. Section your hair into four sections
Part your hair for better application of the dye.
5.Apply your dye one section at a time
You may use the brush included in the kit and apply dye starting with a section at the back of your head and then move forward.
6. Let the dye sit on for the required amount of time.
This will allow the chemicals to do the work for you to achieve that dream hair color.
7. Wash it off.
After 45 minutes, rinse the dye off your hair using lukewarm water. Use your fingers in combing your hair and make sure all the dyes are gone.
8. Apply shampoo and conditioner
Some dye creams have strong smell that is why you have to use shampoo, while other brands only require using conditioner after the procedure.
Aside from using a dye cream you can purchase at any store, here are some natural products you can use:
1. Use honey, vinegar, olive oil, and spices.
Mix a cup (240 mL) of raw honey with two cups (475 mL) of distilled vinegar, a tablespoon (15 mL) of olive oil, and a tablespoon (15 mL) of cardamon. Apply it in your hair same procedure as mentioned above.
2. Rinse your hair with chamomile tea
Brew a strong cup of chamomile tea using a tea bag or tea leaves then let it cool. Apply it in your hair and leave for a while. Wash it off with lukewarm water and you will notice your hair is lighten after it is dried.
3. Add cinnamon to your conditioner
This is another easy way of lightening your hair. Keep the mixture in overnight and rinse it out in the morning.
4. Lighten your hair with water and lemon
Mix water and lemon and apply directly on your hair. The acid present in lemon will help lighten your hair with regular use.
5. Apply baking soda to your hair
Mix warm water and baking soda together until you have a thick paste. Rinse it with lukewarm water. Results will vary depending on how often you do the procedure.
